Breakfast service on an off-season weekday was very pleasant. My wife's chocolate chip pancakes were excellent, her tea was so-so (but better than Lipton which is bitter) I got corned beef hash and was given the option of having it cooked crispy -- I like that. Seemed to have come from a can, but was still alright, plus because it was cooked longer stayed hot longer along with the eggs it was topped with. Biscuit was very good. Coffee was bland however: I'd pay extra for "premium roast". All in all quite nice.
We ate a brunch meal at this restaurant. We waited for about 20 minutes before being seated as we watched several tables sit clean for some time. The serving staff seemed a bit overwhelmed in waiting tables, cleaning tables, and getting customers seated. The food was just okay. We both ordered one of the specials which included biscuit and gravy (frozen biscuits), eggs, sausage or bacon, hashbrowns. For the money paid, waffle house would have been better. Out the door we paid $35 for two people to eat breakfast which included a $4 mimosa that was probably only about 4 ounces. No exaggeration. We would not recommend this if you are looking for a great vacation breakfast.
Service was great. The fried grits and shrimp and creole sauce was the best and I mean the best breakfast I have ever had. The banana stuffed French roach was amazing also. I went with a group of 13 we were sat pretty quickly and were all satisfied with our food.
Food was tasteless. Waffles and pancakes tasted like generic bisquick. Coffee was awful. Waitress could care less about customers. Never got a spoon for the coffee no matter how I asked. Not enough syrup in the dispenser and they never came back so we could get more. Table next to us had same server and had to ask for items 2 and 3 times. Food isn't good enough for bad service. Would never eat here again
Food was the best breakfast we've had. Prices are great, but the food is fantastic! Service was outstanding. Kids were given a Duck's frisbee when we left. Highly recommended from Tennessee tourist.
My family had a wondetfull breakfast. I had the Lil Duck ( 2 eggs, sausage, muffin and grits) Perfect ! The eight of us got fast friendly service. Will visit again on our next trip to Gulf Shores.
Cozy breakfast diner with good prices. I would suggest trying something different than the basic eggs and bacon. I had the Duck's Plate which had eggs, bacon, and biscuits - nothing special. However, my dad had the creole cakes and they were outstanding.
This was our first visit to Duck's Coastal Kitchen. We really enjoyed the good breakfast we had. I am pretty sure this restaurant closes at 1:00 pm so if you are hungry go in early. The prices are moderate and the service was great.
Loved this place. Breakfast was delicious and came out quickly.. our waitress was smiling and attentive. Thank for a great meal and great service. We came from Louisiana to vacation .
Food was good. People were friendly. Place was clean. Not the cheapest but sometimes you get what you pay for. 2 eggs, generous amount of hash browns, nice fluffy biscuit, a grilled pork chop, all washed down with a glass of water. $12.50 ish.
Joke...waited 20 min with plenty of open tables. Owner is rude and unappreciative of her costumers... I’m local and will not waste my time with returning.
Nice homey place for good breakfast options. Service and staff very friendly.
Food is great! Especially the biscuits. They melt in your mouth! Great service and prices. Did have to wait to be seated, but only for about 5 minutes. Did have to park next door at Dominoes until a parking place became available. Enjoy! 😀
Really good food, clean and bright, friendly prompt servers and hostess. Would be helpful and more friendly if everyone wore name tags and introduced themselves. We have no idea who our server was, but she could have been slightly more attentive. Still a good breakfast experience and we are adding it to our regular good places to eat list for us and our guests,
After multiple lack luster breakfasts on vacation, we found Duck's. Nothing was good, everything was amazing. We cleaned our plates, not normal for us. This is now our go-to, nowhere else will satisfy. Staff was friendly & service was quick.
Homemade food! Inexpensive and have a great breakfast and lunch. Small local place 👍👍😊
This location has bcm our go-to spot for a quick, yummy breakfast close to home. We have only been for breakfast and here's why we keep going back: the food's good, it's quick & it's close to home. Win-win-win!
While other places had huge lines we were seated within 5 minutes. Great food and service. Great breakfast spot.
Always try to find a local breakfast place to try while on vacation and this one was great. We tried the shrimp and grits and the stuffed french toast both were very good and the staff was very nice. Would definitely recommend to anyone stopping by!!! Kids loved the french toast also !!
Great breakfast! We went to Hazels first and it was packed so we went here instead. I’m not a huge breakfast person or a shrimp and grits gal but I got the creole shrimp and grit cake special and it was great!! The sauce was amazing I loved it. Boyfriend got the country fried steak and it was good. Fine service!
Great food and atmosphere. I go here often and am always then care of, even when they are crazy busy! Crazy cakes are amazing, highly recommended.
I would drive all the way from Kansas City once a month for the grit cakes and shrimp. SO good. What a cute spot with nice people.
Ducks is a great place to go if you're looking for a good breakfast (which they serve all day). This is another place that's always on our list when we come down to Gulf Shores. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and I've never been disappointed with the food. The crab omelette, served only on the weekends, is a definite favorite, and the shrimp version is good as well. And their pancakes are huge! And you can even have yourself a nice Mimosa with your meal. ;)
Friendly service. Reasonable pricing. Large portions. Try the Bacon Jam :)
Best breakfast in the area. Simple but effective menu. Has the home cooking vibe. Highly recommended.
Food was good, great jalapeno cornbread and chicken fried steak. But the lady who checked us out was rude and tried to charge us more than the menu price. She said it was due to price increase at the store. Not our problem, you need to change it on your menu. Oh yeah they also charged extra for a very small bowl of gravy for the Fri's. If he had of got mashed potatoes it would have been free. ??? Don't understand that one!
Went there on vacation great environment great food great service
Surprising good. Had a chicken salad and even though they only had one size to go drink. The chicken was a little hard to cut through the shell from being grilled inside was soft and the right color of white with a touch of pink it also had wonderful seasonings on it all and all would go back again. Nice people and good portion.
Good food small dinner so can have a bit if a wait. But enjoyed it
This place is great!!! I had breakfast while my husband had lunch. Meat and pick three. He was highly impressed. Great staff great food.
We had to bus our own table prior to sitting. There were spills and it was filthy from the previous family or because it had never been cleaned before? Don't agree to sit outside 50/50 they'll put you directly under the sun. Plus the creamer they keep out there for coffee says better when refrigerated. Also the food isn't worth the wait. My husband had the regular pancakes and I had the banana pecan pancakes. Both were subpar.
BEST grits I've ever had....cracker barrel can't touch it! Love their crab omelet and shrimp omelet too. Friendly service and not too crowded every time I've been here. We always make it a point now to come here for breakfast during our vacations.
Very good breakfast. Very good service. We will be back!
We came here around 9:30 am on a Sunday morning. We got seated right away and the server greeted us right away. However, it took about 30 minutes for our food. The food was just okay. Nothing to rave about. Probably wouldn't come back to this place if visit Gulf Shores again.
Great, cheap little diner. Was so good we came back a second time during our 4 day stay. Great service, cheap/strong mimosas, and mostly good food (biscuits and gravy were plain, but the Creole shrimp and grits speciality breakfast was unique and fantastic).
Great place for breakfast in Gulf Shores. The service and food is outstanding. I have been here several times and I highly recommend this place.
Breakfast food was good. The omlets are not over cooked an the buritto was really stuffed! Service was fast and sraff was friendly. Prices were average for a tourist place. $25 for buritto an omlet.
Took a while for the food to come out. Huge pancakes! Western omlet is tasty.
Perfection. Food was the best breakfast out, ever (almost). Service was pleasant and professional. Big crowd but food came quickly. Quality.
Service was very good. Food was really good except for the pancakes. They seemed to be a little doughy . Other than that, I would eat there again, just not get the pancakes.
They had a good breakfast menu, with reasonable prices, and we liked everything we ate. There is a very limited amount of seafood, especially in the breakfast items, if that is what you're looking for. We had a few issues with the place though. First, when we entered, a server asked how many were in our party, then never returned. Another server finally noticed us and sat us in the table that had been empty and right next to us the entire time we waited. Second, there was some "biscuit fiasco" that caused the central part of our meal (biscuits with gravy) to be delayed to the point that we had finished everything else before they asked if we would like to wait for them, or just pay for everything minus the biscuit and gravy. We were pretty full, so we paid and left. I am convinced they had some employee problem that day.
Great food and wonderful service! Our food came to us exactly what we asked for. It came out quickly. Did I mention great?!
Friendly service. French toast was delicious and eggs were cooked perfectly. Only complaint was that toast wasn't buttered so by the time it got to the table is was too cool for the butter to melt.
Decent food, very weak (over priced) coffee. Good prices and good customer service
Hunter was a wonderful server! I got a sweet tea, turnip greens, mac and cheese, potato salad and fried catfish. All of that was $8.95, and it was all homemade. Best turnip greens I have had, and fantastic sour cream based potato salad.
Local awesomeness! Friendly staff and great service. Kids got bfast burritos and loved em! I got the Coastal grit cakes and would get em again for sure! Worth a visit.
As a former server, I loved seeing all the service-related memes posted on the walls. Good food, solid service, and a bright atmosphere. Never want to go back to gulf shores in my life, but if I did, I'd hit up Duck's. Try it out for yourself--definitely a solid option in what is generally a tourist trap.
Food was great, friendly atmosphere and great staff. I highly recommend Duck's Coastal Kitchen😎😎👍👍👍👍👍
Food was good, not amazing though. Coffee was average. Waitress was not very polite. Would we go back? Maybe if we had a different waitress.
Had the banana stuffed French toast and it was off the chain good!! Waitress was very good, pleasant, and funny. Definitely coming back
